I grew up in Northumberland, Pennsylvania. I was immersed in church music as a child, singing and playing trombone for services from a young age, nearly always accompanied by his mother, a church organist and choir director. I earned a degree in music at the University of North Texas, where I played trombone in the renowned One O’Clock Jazz Lab Band. My professional life led me into a career of music within the United Methodist Church, beginning with eleven years as the Music and Arts Director of the Denton Wesley Foundation. While there, I began writing music for the choirs he conducted, and quickly discovered his love of composition.
Since moving to Austin in 2013, I have been active as both a music performer and teacher. I am the founding member and the Artistic Director of Inversion Ensemble, a choral group dedicated to performing new musical works. I also co-own and I am the principal arranger of the Christmas caroling company, Tinsel. Trevor has conducted choirs throughout the US and the UK. His compositions have been performed by a variety of choral and instrumental ensembles on five continents.
